Charleston City To Host Drive-In Movies
The City will partner with WQBE and Electric 102.7 to host three outdoor drive-in movies.

Today, Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the City will host drive-in movies throughout the summer. The City will partner with WQBE and Electric 102.7 to host three outdoor drive-in movies. These events will take place in the parking lot of Big Lots on Patrick Street and are free.

“We saw major success hosting drive-in movies last year and heard positive feedback from folks looking for outdoor activities to do during the pandemic,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “We are excited to work with WQBE, Electric 102.7, and local philanthropist and businesswoman with White Properties Karen Haddad, to continue these movie nights this summer.”
“We are happy to bring back drive-in movie nights this summer and give people a free, safe night out as a family,” said Jeff Jeffreys, WQBE.

Events are scheduled to take place in June, July and August.
- Frozen 2, Wednesday, June 9 at 9 p.m.
- Moana, Wednesday, July 7 at 9 p.m.
- Godzilla vs. Kong, Wednesday, August 4 at 9 p.m.
Each movie night will begin with a 30 minute cartoon. Parking will begin 90 minutes prior to each event and be on a first come, first served basis.
