Police say the victim was asleep on a porch Sunday morning when Carl Tramane Magee III poured gasoline on her and lit her on fire.

CHARLESTON, WV — A homeless man accused of lighting a sleeping homeless woman on fire in West Virginia has been arrested on charges including attempted murder.
Carl Tramane Magee III, 34, was arrested Monday, Charleston police Lt. Steve Cooper told local media outlets. The victim was asleep on a porch Sunday morning when Magee allegedly poured gasoline on her and lit her on fire, Cooper said. The woman suffered extensive burns and remains in critical condition at a hospital, police said.
Video from a neighbor's surveillance camera appears to show Magee going up to the porch with a gas can and a fire then igniting it, Cooper said. (For more local news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts. If you have an iPhone, click here to get the free Patch iPhone app.)
