Honoring First Responders
West Virginia business helps recognize brave, local heroes by creating First Responder of the Month Award
Most kids dream of embarking on a career path to help others, idealizing occupations such as firefighters, policemen, astronauts, nurses, and of course, superheroes.
As we grow older, our priorities shift, some of them leading us into professional fields we never initially imagined. But some of us stayed true to the idea of helping others, so much so, that these individuals risk their lives everyday for the safety and well-being of the community.
To honor the brave first responders in our communities, West Virginia law firm Manchin Injury Law Group awards local heroes each month with the First Responder of the Month Award.

February’s recipient of the First Responder of the Month Award was Chief Deputy of the Whitehall Police Department, Shawn Davis, and most recently for the month of March, Officers Eric Hudson and Darren Freme were awarded for their courageous rescue of an injured woman who found herself in the Monogahela River late at night.
In an interview with WDTV, founding partner Timothy J. Manchin states awarding first responders is about connecting to the community, adding:

It allows us, first and foremost, to recognize someone who is a first responder, who is out there on the front lines helping people in our community. But, it also allows us, as a firm, to continue our mission of giving to the communities in West Virginia and helping charities in West Virginia.
