Kanawha Avenue In City Of Charleston To Close Sundays For Social Distant Exercise

All lanes will close at 10 a.m. and reopen at 7 p.m.

At the request of the Kanawha City Community Association, Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin will close Kanawha Avenue from 37th Street to 57th Street for socially distant exercise on Sunday, September 13 and Sunday, October 11. All lanes will close at 10 a.m. and reopen at 7 p.m.

“We received a great amount of positive feedback about our first road closure on Kanawha Avenue for socially distant activity,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “After consulting with the Kanawha City Community Association, we have decided to close again in the months of September and October.”

Resident-only access will be permitted at 37th Street, 42nd Street, 50th Street and 57th Street.
