West Virginia Teacher Strike: Schools Close Again
The state Department of Education's website indicates that all school districts will stay closed in all 55 counties on Monday.

CHARLESTON, WV — Public school across West Virginia are closed for a third day as teacher's strike for higher pay. The state Department of Education's website indicates that all school districts will stay closed in all 55 counties on Monday.
Gov. Jim Justice previously signed teacher pay raises of 2 percent next year and 1 percent the following two years. But teacher pay in the state ranks just 48th in the nation, and teachers say the modest bumps are too stingy, especially as health care costs more.
West Virginia Education Association President Dale Lee said thousands of teachers are returning to the state Capitol in Charleston Monday to raise pressure on the Legislature and governor.
