2-4 Inches Of Rain, Flash Flooding Expected Starting Tuesday

If you live in a flood-prone area, be ready to take action to secure/protect your property from possible flooding.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Citing even more heavy rains, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for all of southern Wisconsin on Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

The NWS is reporting that a period of heavy rainfall that continues into Wednesday will result in flash flooding and local flooding as well as rises on areas rivers and streams.

Rainfall of two to three inches is possible north of Milwaukee and Madison tapering off to about one to one-and-a-half inches to the south through Wednesday.

There is a chance for thunderstorms Tuesday and Tuesday night. Several storms may become strong to severe. There will also be small chances for thunderstorms return Wednesday night and again on Saturday, the NWS says.

This heavy rain axis may shift slightly over the next 24 to 36 hours, so remain alert for changes in the forecast, the NWS says. If you live in a flood prone area, be ready to take action to secure/protect your property from possibly flooding.

In east central Wisconsin, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. In south central Wisconsin, Columbia, Dane, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Lafayette, Marquette, Rock, and Sauk. In southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha.
