Bobby Way and the Wayouts Kick Off Summer Concert Series Today

The city's Civic Plaza concert series features live music at noon on Wednesday plus three evening concerts, starting today with a double feature of Bobby Way and the Wayouts.

The city's Civic Plaza will once again become the site of live music today, as the city's concert series kicks off with two performances by Bobby Way and the Wayouts.

The series offers free outdoor concerts at noon on Wednesdays plus three evening concerts, all in the Civic Plaza green square between  and the , 2100 N. Calhoun Rd.

This year's first band is Bobby Way and the Wayouts, self-described "ultimate party band," who will perform from noon to 1 p.m. and from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

Listen to their YouTube video for a flavor of the variety band's stylings, which include '50s, '60s and '70s covers.

Concert-goers can bring lawn chairs and blankets or sit on the city's picnic benches under large umbrella tents. Sub sandwiches, drinks and lunch combos are available for purchase.

The concert series is organized by ACA Entertainment and the city Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. Wheaton Franciscan Elmbrook Memorial Campus is the title sponsor of the concerts.
