Here is your guide to the 2019 Brookfield fireworks display and annual Independence Day parade.

BROOKFIELD, WI – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Brookfield, so you can start planning now.

Independence Day

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the morning.

Thursday Night

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind around 5 miles per hour becoming calm.

Annual Parade

Where: The parade starts just west of the Brookfield Central High School building on Gebhardt Road. The parade turns north on Calhoun Road, then west on North Ave. before turning south on Norhardt Drive where it ends at Civic Drive.

When: The City of Brookfield's annual Fourth of July parade will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

Parking: Buses are directed to please park in the West parking lot of St. John Vianney Parish, located on Norhardt Drive near Gebhardt Road. Parking for people who are going to be in the parade is available at City Hall, Library, Safety Building, and St. John Vianney Church lots. Additional parking is also available in the overflow lot north of the Brookfield Central High School football field and south of North Ave. Parents and spectators are encouraged to park in the overflow lot accessible from North Ave. just east of Calhoun Road.

Parade Route for 2019

Ice Cream Social

The annual city-wide Ice Cream Social will take place on the Civic Plaza immediately following the parade. There will be a flag raising ceremony and other entertainment.

Family Fest

The 2019 City of Brookfield Family Fest will take place at Mitchell Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This annual pre-fireworks event features family-oriented games and activities, huge bouncing inflatables, free face painting, stilt walkers, a variety of food, and entertainment.

Special features on the Children’s Stage include “Glen Gerard "Magic Productions” and “The Truly Remarkable Loon- A Comedy Juggling Show”

The “Our House” band will be back with great entertainment on the Pavilion main stage. Come on out to the park earlier and find parking, have a picnic, enjoy the activities and entertainment, and stay for the fireworks extravaganza.

Fireworks Display

Where: Mitchell Park, 19900 River Rd, Brookfield, WI 53045

When: The annual fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:17 p.m. Arriving early for the best parking opportunities is strongly encouraged. The rain date is Thursday, July 5th, 2018 at 9:17 p.m.
