BROOKFIELD, WI — The Brookfield Central High School boy's basketball team got a dose of bad news this week on the eve of the 2019 WIAA playoffs after authorities said they arrested 18-year-old Gage Malensek on suspicion of multiple drug charges.

According to a CBS 58 report Thursday, police say they relied on confidential informants in order to catch Malensek selling drugs. According to police reports, informants bought marijuana or THC vape cartridges from Malensek three times; twice outside a Panera and once outside of gas station.

According to the report, detectives searched his parent's home, and found scales, marijuana pipes, bongs, and records relating to the “purchase, distribution, and manufacture of marijuana.”
