Brookfield East Student and Her Mom Performing at Inaugural Breakfast

Anatalia Ashcroft and her mother, Gela, play for President Barack Obama and his wife Monday morning.

A Brookfield East sophomore and her mother are performing for President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle about 5,000 others Monday morning at the inaugural prayer breakfast.

FOX 6 reported that Anatalia Ashcroft and her mother, Gela, are in Washington, DC for Monday morning’s event. Anatalia, 16, is a violinist and her mother is a professional musician, the station reported. Her mother said Anatalia truly blossomed as a musician a couple of years ago, and the girl told FOX 6 that she’s excited but not nervous.

Other people with Waukesha County connections involved the inaugural are a Menomonee Falls native performing with a U.S. Army band and a Sussex native riding a horse in the parade.
