Brookfield Fourth Of July Events Return In 2021

The Brookfield Fourth Of July Parade will return this year and pass through Calhoun Road, followed by fireworks at night.

BROOKFIELD, WI — The city's Independence Day parade will return this year with bike decorating, a flag raising ceremony, Family Fest and fireworks.

The City of Brookfield will hold all Independence Day activities on July 3. Last year's parade was canceled.

The city has made a list of events including the parade, Family Fest and firework viewing for the day. Here's a breakdown of what will happen:

  • Calhoun Road between North Avenue and Gebhardt Road will close at 9:30 a.m. for the parade. The city said the parade will begin at 10 a.m. and last until all units have completed the route. On a typical year the parade ends around noon.
  • The parade will start at Gebhardt Road behind the Calvalry Lutheran Church and end at the intersection of Norhardt Road and Civic Drive. It will pass north through Calhoun Road, marching in between the Civic Plaza and the Ruby Isle Shopping Center.
  • Bike decorating starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. Participants will meet at the Brookfield Public Library back parking lot.
  • An American flag raising ceremony will take place at Civic Plaza immediately after the parade.
  • Family Fest will start at Mitchell Park from 6 to 9 p.m. The fest will include family-oriented activities, food and entertainment. Patrons are encouraged to come earlier to find parking, have a picnic and stay for fireworks viewing. There is no rain date for Family Fest, the city said.
  • Fireworks will be held on July 3. The city's rain date is Monday, July 5. Fireworks begin around 9:17 p.m.
