CEA Lecture "Films that Changed America" - October 31, 2018
Yale Professor Mark Lapadula to speak about important films that have had a major impact on America

The College Endowment Association’s Subscription Lecture Series presents “Films That Changed America” by Yale Professor Mark Lapadula on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 10:00 am in the ballroom of the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin, 813 E. Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mark Lapadula will reveal why some of his favorite films such as The Graduate, Easy Rider, Jaws, and The China Syndrome etc. have had a major impact on our society by raising our awareness of social issues and inequities. He feels that “films were the most effective way to reach the public” and “are still the dominant art form of this digital age.”
Mark Lapadula has taught introductory, intermediate and advanced seminars on screenwriting at Yale University since 1992. Before teaching at Yale, he taught screenwriting. Playwriting and film analysis at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Graduate Film School at Columbia University.

This very special lecture is part of the College Endowment Association’s Subscription Lecture series that is open to men and women from the Greater Milwaukee area. College Endowment Association members meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from October through February (except for a few weeks in December) at 10:00 am for a 60 minute lecture or a 90 minute film on a wide variety of subjects at the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin, 813 E. Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
