City Of Brookfield Selects New Police Chief

City of Brookfield Police Chief Dan Tushaus is set to retire later this year.

CITY OF BROOKFIELD, WI— City of Brookfield has selected a new police chief, Mayor Steve Ponto confirmed the news to Patch. Current Police Chief Dan Tushaus is set to retire after over 40 years with the city.

On Jan. 29 the Police and Fire Commission selected Assistant Police Chief Jim Adlam to be Brookfield’s next Police Chief beginning April 6. Adlam has been with the police department for 35 years.

Ponto said Adlam has been an assistant chief for 5 years.

"He was the obvious choice. I think he will do an excellent job. He has a tremendous experience with Brookfield," Ponto told Patch.

Chief Tushaus announced his retirement on November 2. He will be retiring on April 5. City of Brookfield Fire Chief Charlie Myers announced on Jan. 26 he will be retiring June 2, City of Brookfield's Human Resources Director James Zwerlein.
