Elmbrook School District To Hold Graduation In-Person

The ceremonies will be an in-person event with COVID-19 protocols in place. Live video streaming will be available.

BROOKFIELD, WI— Elmbrook School District will hold graduation ceremonies in-person with live video streaming available, according to the according to the Elmbrook School District.

Brookfield Central High School's graduation is set for 7 :30 p.m. on Friday, June 11. Rain dates are 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 13.

Graduation will be an in-person event with COVID-19 protocols in place. The ceremony will be held outdoors in the BCHS Harrison-Thomas Stadium. A video livestream will be available.

Brookfield East High School will hold graduation at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 11. Rain dates are 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 and 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 13 at 7.

Prom Dates Set

Elmbrook School District will hold prom for Brookfield Central High School on May 8.

In order to attend, all prom attendees/chaperones must take a rapid COVID-19 test and test negative, according to the District.

The test will be administered on the morning of May 8. The testing process will be finalized and communicated in the near future, according to the Elmbrook School District.

If a person has documentation of a confirmed/documented COVID-19 case in the past 90 days, they will be exempt from needing to take the test. If a person have received their full COVID-19 vaccine prior April 23, they will be exempt from needing to take the test, the District said.
If a student tests positive in the days after prom and they were infectious while present, they will be expected to identify their close contacts and quarantine protocols will be implemented.

Brookfield East's events are two nights, not one, but the testing protocols and safety precautions will be the same. Brookfield East High School tentative dates are prom: Tentative June 5 and senior ball: Tentative May 15.

The current coronavirus activity is very low, but a change in the disease activity could prevent the school from hosting the event, according to the district.

The following coronavirus policies were announced:

● Students must wear masks except while eating/drinking.

● Locker rooms will not be available.

● Students who are symptomatic, quarantined, or isolated on the day of the dance cannot attend. We will refund both the student and their date should the date not attend.

● Students will not be allowed to self-isolate in the weeks leading up to the prom.

● Additional mitigation strategies, such as cleaning/sanitation during the events will be used to the greatest extent possible consistent with CDC & Elmbrook School District guidelines.
