For women, it can be a perfect storm for financial disaster. Women tend to earn less than men during their lifetime; they interrupt their careers and earning power to raise children and take care of elderly parents; divorce or widowhood leaves women unprepared to face their financial future.

“Women have really good intuition when it comes to finances, but they don’t trust themselves to listen to it,” Ellenbecker said. “We want to inform women so they can level the playing field when it comes to their financial future.”
