Final Brookfield Farmers Market Features Carved Pumpkins

The 22nd run of the Brookfield Farmers Market is drawing to a close — but not before one last Market & More extra vendor day featuring holiday gifts and freshly carved pumpkins for sale.

Saturday is the final day for extra non-produce vendors — including Brookfield Patch — who will line up around the Civic Plaza next to City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road.

The following Saturday — Oct. 27 — will be the last farmers market of the season and the last chance to get that fresh fall fruits, vegetables and specialty meats and items.

Lynn Sigler and her family will be back to carve pumpkins for sale, with all proceeds going to the Waukesha Food Pantry. Her family has been doing the Halloween carvings for more than five years.

AW Werner Greenhouse will be selling pots of fall pansies.

"They're gorgeous and priced quite reasonably," said Bobbi Harvey, market manager. "Pansies will tolerate cooler weather and are great for providing color while summer flowers are dying off."
