Low Temperatures In 30s Expected In Wisconsin This Week

Precipitation is expected to peak Monday and Thursday as cooler weather moves into the area.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The time has come for Wisconsin residents to break out winter clothes, at least this week as the coldest temperatures of the fall make their way to the region.

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will drop as low as 36 degrees this week as a northerly weather system brings with it rain and cold air on Thursday.

On Monday, eastern Wisconsin is expected to see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day with a high near 60 degrees and an overnight low of 44 degrees.

Rain is expected to taper off on Tuesday and leave behind partly cloudy skies with a high near 61 degrees. Overnight, a 20 percent chance of showers is expected before 1 a.m., and temperatures are expected to drop to 47 degrees.

A 30 percent chance of showers persists after 1 p.m. on Wednesday. A high of 63 and low of 45 are expected.

On Thursday, the area has a 60 percent chance of seeing rain after 1 p.m. Northwest winds of 10 to 15 miles-per-hour are also expected. The daytime high is projected to be 57. Overnights, temperatures will drop to around 38 degrees.

Cooler weather stays in the forecast on Friday with a high near 52 degrees. Overnight, partly cloudy skies will accompany temperatures around 36 degrees.

A slight warmup is expected through the weekend, according to the NWS. Saturday will see a high of 54 and a low of 42, and Sunday will see temperatures climb back to 55 degrees.
