Piles of Rhythm, Marcell Guyton Perform Civic Concerts Wednesday

Marcell Guyton, keyboardist and bandleader for The Rhythm Kings is the noon act and Piles of Rhythm featuring WISN Channel 12's Mike Miller performs at 7 p.m.

Wednesday is one of three special evening concerts in the city's Civic Plaza series.

The free outdoor concert series are held in the Civic Plaza green square between  and the , 2100 N. Calhoun Rd.

Guyton, who is heavily influenced by Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel, has played at top Milwaukee clubs and hotels, including Lucille's and Mason Street Grill in the Pfister. 

Piles of Rhythm features covers of '50s, '60s, '70s rock and R&B. On the band's list are songs from The Beatles, Rolling Stone, Kinks, The Who, ZZ Top, The Cars and Eagles.

Concert-goers can bring lawn chairs and blankets or sit on the city's picnic benches under large umbrella tents. Sub sandwiches, drinks and lunch combos are available for purchase.

The concert series is organized by ACA Entertainment and the city Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. Wheaton Franciscan Elmbrook Memorial Campus is the title sponsor of the concerts.
