Hit and Run Driver Surrendered in Roundabout Injury Crash

The driver who fled the scene of Sunday's collision that seriously injured a 25-year-old Brookfield woman turned himself in Monday, police say.

(Updated at 12:04 p.m. Monday): A 64-year-old Brookfield man turned himself and his vehicle into police Monday morning in connection with a hit-and-run crash in the Barker Road roundabout Sunday, police said.

Police arrested the man on a charge of hit and run causing injury.

Officers continue to encourage anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the car that fled to contact the City of Brookfield Police Department at (262) 787-3702.

The vehicle was described as a newer model silver colored sedan and most likely has front end damage and a damaged headlamp assembly, police said.

Authorities were called to accident in the Barker Road / North Avenue roundabout at 7:39 p.m. Sunday, and the striking vehicle was gone upon arrival.

A Brookfield woman, 25, was struck while walking in a cross walk in the roundabout, police said. She was taken to an area hospital with serious pelvis and head injuries.
