Six-String Wizards Rock Wilson Center This Weekend

See Daryl Stuermer of Genesis and others as top guitarists vie for cash prizes in Wilson Center Guitar Competition.

Guitar players vie for $22,000 in prize money beginning Thursday in the first Wilson Center Guitar Competition and Festival.

Guitarists compete in four different styles, and each evening is highlighted by performances from top-shelf musicians, including Daryl Stuermer of Genesis on Saturday night.  Tickets are available for each night’s show. Learn more about this unique music extravaganza at the official website.

New drive-through: Brookfield’s Plan Commission has a lot on its plate at 6 p.m. Monday. Among the new business is a request to install a drive-through window at a former Caribou Coffee to be called “The Café,” described as a coffee and yogurt shop with bakery and sandwiches. The panel also will consider setting a public hearing for the Mandel Group project at the southwest corner of Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road.
