The Shire Meeting Canceled for Indemnity Review

City Plan Commission action on a request to expand The Shire subdivision has been delayed until January as parties review the city's request for indemnification from any landfill issues.

The city canceled a special commission meeting Wednesday to give Waste Management and developer Joe Niebler more time to review the city's request for indemnification and insurance coverage from Waste Management, Mayor Steve Ponto said.

Niebler agreed to extend the time frame that the city must act on his request for a preliminary plat approval to , Ponto said.

The Plan Commission and Common Council are expected to debate and vote in January on the subdivision expansion.
