A period of strong on-shore winds and high waves may result in lakeshore flooding and an elevated erosion risk along the Lake Michigan shore and river inlets. The National Weather Service says Lake Michigan waves will increase to between eight to 12 feet in height at the lakeshore by early afternoon, and then subside this evening as winds become south to southwest and diminish. Minor flooding of beaches, along with roads and structures in low-lying areas near the lakeshore, are possible.
