What's Your Best Advice for a Kindergarden Parent?

The first day of school can be tough for parents of Kindergarden students.

The first day of school for Brookfield kids is just a few weeks away, and for many parents it will actually be the very first day they send their kids away to a day in the classroom.

Patch asked its readers for advice for parents who will experience that kindergarden milestone with their children this year. Here's what we heard back:

  • Take a picture. Then plan on taking one the first day of school for as long as they'll let you. It's a precious memory — Sheila Buechel
  • First - don't cry until after your child is on the bus and cannot see you. Second - communicate with their teacher at more than just parent-teacher conferences. Third - if you can volunteer to chaperone field trips as they are always a lot of fun. Fourth - take a picture on the first day of school every year as this was a great memory for me and my siblings! — Diana Stobbs
