WI Reports Over 2,300 New Coronavirus Cases, 17 Deaths Tuesday

WISCONSIN — Wisconsin officials on Tuesday reminded residents to "do better" in helping slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced an additional 2,367 people had tested positive for the virus as of Tuesday. Additionally, another 17 deaths had been reported.

As it stands, the state has seen a total of 119,955 cases of the coronavirus and 1,300 deaths

The state DHS on Tuesday also reported another 67 people had been hospitalized with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, bringing the state's total to 7,209.

The Green Bay Press Gazette reports the 17 deaths announced on Tuesday marks the highest number of deaths seen since May.

"We are in a crisis right now," Ryan Westergaard, DHS chief medical officer, told the publication. "The likelihood that this is going to get much worse before it gets better is a real one."

To date, 1,412,774 tests for the coronavirus in Wisconsin have returned negative results, according to DHS. More than 8,000 tests returned negative results on Tuesday, data shows.
