WISN: Brookfield Man Who Was Shot in Costa Rica Dies
Steve Flesch's family attempted to get him released from the hospital for about a month but were denied because his passport was stolen.

A 32-year-old Brookfield man who was shot and robbed in Costa Rica while on vacation has died, reported Patch media partners WISN 12.
Steve Flesch's family had been trying to get him back to the United States as he laid in a hospital bed in Costa Rica for more than a month, and the family could not get him released.
The hospital wouldn't release him because his passport was stolen, and they didn't get any cooperation from the U.S. Embassy.
