WISN: String of Burglaries Hits County
Law enforcement in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties are on high alert after a number of homes were burglarized.
A Brookfield homeowner's dog was able to scare away a thief in one of several attempted burglaries in the county recently.
Charles and Lillian Landey were sleeping during the attempted break-in, but their dog scared the intruder away, according to WISN.com. The only damage was a ripped screen. Homeowners in the Forest Walk condominiums have always reported break-ins.
Last week, a thief entered a Brookfield home through an unlocked patio door, stealing electronics and the homeowner's wallet.
Other cities where similar break-ins have been reported include: Sussex, Menomonee Falls, Glendale, Bayside and Mequon, according to WISN.
