According to a WAOW report, the dyes that were used on the dog are linked to a kidney disease the dog later suffered. The dog will now need medications that cost $300 per month for the remainder of its life.
The Alaskan Malamute stands roughly two feet tall at the shoulders and weighs about 75 to 80 pounds in maturity. Its heavy build, and thick white, black and gray coat give it a distinctive appearance. It has been suggested the breed is suitable for forbidding climates and is an ideal sled dog.

Jacoby said he understands she will be paying for her mistake and claims she felt sorry for the dog.
According to a WISN 12 report, Jacoby sent a message to the television station, saying she was a minor at the time of the incident and she "wanted this dog to have a better life than being a sled dog and didn’t understand why they had it locked up in a pen outside in the cold I understand that I made a mistake and will be paying for it.” She also told the station she "never posted pictures of her ‘in disguise’ and wasn’t the one to dye” the dog.
