50 Jobs Could Come To Franklin From S&C Electric Expansion

S&C Electric Company is expanding its Franklin facilities by 50,000 square feet which could result in 50 new jobs.

FRANKLIN, WI — S&C Electric Company broke ground on a 50,000 square foot factory expansion Thursday and it could eventually bring 50 new skilled jobs to Franklin, according to a press release from S&C Electric.

The project will bring facilities to manufacture power grid equipment that helps minimize faults, equipment breakdown and power outages, according to the press release.

The expansion is scheduled to be completed in 2022. S&C Electric will employ about 50 new people following completion of the project. The Franklin location was established in 2002 and expanded once already in 2012. The current location already has 80,000 square feet of facilities and employs about 150 people, according to the press release.

“We are excited to deepen our roots in Franklin, and through the expansion we will be able to meet the growing demand for resilient and reliable electricity,” S&C Electric CEO Jim Johnson said in the press release.

City and State officials, including Mayor Steve Olson and State Senator Bradley Julian, attended the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.

“We’re thrilled to see S&C continue the tradition of expansion in the City of Franklin and provide job opportunities for our residents," Mayor Olson said in the press release, "particularly given the meaningful work they do and high-tech solutions they offer to keep the power on around the world.”

S&C Electric Company also maintains facilities in Chicago and West Palm Beach.
