​ Bradley Sworn Into Wisconsin State Senate

MADISON, Wis. — State Senator Julian Bradley, R–Franklin, took his oath of office for the Wisconsin State Senate on Monday.

His inauguration marks the first time an African-American has held office as a Republican Wisconsin state senator.

“Being chosen by my community to represent them in the Senate is a great honor,” Senator Bradley said. “I promise to my constituents that I will fight so the American Dream, which I have seen firsthand is alive and well, can prevail for generations to come in Wisconsin."

The senator said he would focus on a crackdown on repeat violent criminals; holding the line on taxes in the state budget; and working "to defend our constitutional rights and the unborn".

Senator Bradley will chair the Senate Committee on Utilities, Technology, and Telecommunications. He will also serve on the Joint Committee on the Review of Administrative Rules, as well as the Senate Judiciary, Health and Government Operations Committees.

Senator Bradley represents the 28th Senate District, which includes portions of Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties.
