There is no charge or registration to be in the children's parade. So long as an adult accompanies any minors, anyone can arrive at the Franklin Police Department parking lot by 10 a.m. to participate in the children's parade.

Other highlights of the activities on July 4, the final day of the celebration, include open tours of Franklin's historical buildings, face painting, Geno's kid show and a dance studio.

Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 in the Lions Legend Park in Franklin.

July 4 celebrations were canceled across Milwaukee County last year due to the pandemic, but not all of them will return for 2021. Both Franklin and Greenfield have decided to bring their Independence Day festivities back in full force for 2021, but Milwaukee can't say the same.

The lakefront fireworks will not occur for the second year in a row, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. The display is typically one of the largest in the County, drawing campers and viewers from all across Wisconsin.
