Resident Input Needed For New Pathway Along West Forest Home
An upcoming project on West Forest Home from Jefferson Terrace to Speedway Drive could bring a new pathway but the city needs more input.
FRANKLIN, WI—A new pedestrian and bike pathway along West Forest Home Avenue could come with a future Milwaukee County project, but the City of Franklin needs resident input.
The city is asking for Franklin residents' input on if they would use a new trail and sidewalk and to what extent they would use it. See below a map of the proposed improvements and each segment.
The new pathway could be installed from Jefferson Terrace to Speedway Drive along West Forest Home Avenue in 2023 and could create a new trail in an otherwise car-dominated stretch of road. The new trail could be created to include bicycles and pedestrians and could connect to the existing Hike-Bike trail.

The Common Council discussed the pathway in its meeting on June 1 but decided that community input would be needed before a decision. The pathway could be constructed only for pedestrians, but it could also be constructed to accommodate bicycles.
Survey responses for the project are due by July 9.
