2018 Olympics: Matt Antoine Men's Skeleton Schedule, Results
Wisconsin's Matt Antoine hopes to capture gold in the Men's Skeleton during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI — The Skeleton race is one of the Olympic Game's most high-speed events. During competition, a racer mounts a dual-runner racing sled, gliding at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour, only inches from the ice.
The term "Skeleton" owes its existence to the appearance of the first sleds used during the 1928 Winter Olympics.
Prairie Du Chien native Matt Antoine, 32, earned the bronze medal in the men's skeleton event in 2014 in Sochi, the first medal for the U.S. skeleton team in 12 years.

This time around, he will be hoping to strike gold. Antoine is currently ranked as the 8th best skeleton athlete in the world.
"To be able to go to two Olympics, to represent my country there twice, have family members over there watching me, because I know it means as much to them as it does to myself, I know it's something I'll really cherish," Antoine told WTMJ.
