Woman, 82, Fatally Struck by Car
The intersection of S. 68th St. and Grange Ave was closed off when a Jimmy Johns delivery driver struck and killed an elderly woman Monday night.
An 82-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car near the intersection of Grange Avenue and South 68th Street, near Southridge Mall on Monday night.
Beatrice Salo of Greendale was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders did not try to resusitate her.
Operating the vehicle was a 21-year-old Jimmy John's delivery driver, Matthew N. Pipito of West Allis. Pipito is fully cooperating with police. Police Chief Robert Malasuk said there was no indiciation of illegal substances.

Malasuk said they believe she was walking to or from her home shortly before 7:45 p.m. when she was struck. The woman was in the crosswalk dressed in dark clothing at the time of the accident. Video surveillance shows that the traffic signal was green on Grange Avenue.
The accident has closed off the intersection of Grange Avenue and 68th Street, according to Greendale Police.Â

The accident is being investigated by Greendale Police. The Wisconsin State Patrol was called in for an accident reconstruction. Â
