Argument Leads to Emergency Detention of Woman, Police Say

An apparent argument between a man and woman resulted in the emergency detention of the woman at the Milwaukee County Mental Health facility Aug. 22.

According to the Greendale Police Department’s media summary, a caller from the Applewood Apartments told police she saw what appeared to be a woman crying and yelling and appearing to be chasing the man into a nearby nature preserve.

Police found the man and woman, who were verbally arguing in front of Highland View Elementary School.

The woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and detained, according to police.

• Police responded along with firefighters and paramedics to an apartment filled with smoke in the 5000 block of West College Avenue on Aug. 21 after the resident burned food on the stove. The resident was cited for negligent handling of burning material.
• A driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped for traffic in front of College Park School on Aug. 22.
