Generic Democrat Would Beat Trump In Wisconsin In 2020: Poll
If the 2020 election was held today, one poll says a generic democratic candidate would earn Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes.

WISCONSIN — If the 2020 presidential election was held today, a generic Democratic candidate would beat Donald Trump in Wisconsin, a recent poll suggested.
According to a Crooked Media/Change Research Wisconsin Poll conducted between Aug. 9 to Aug. 11, "39 percent of voters say they’ll 'definitely vote' for the Democratic candidate, and 38 percent say they’ll 'definitely vote' for Trump."
When voters were asked who they'd "probably vote for," respondents reportedly said they'd vote for the generic Democratic candidate over Trump by a margin of 46 percent to 45 percent.

When it came to their favored Democratic candidate, nobody really distinguished themselves from the pack, the poll stated. Although 29 percent of Wisconsin voters surveyed preferred Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders (24 percent) and Joe Biden (20 percent) were not close behind.

If Wisconsin's polling history tells you anything, it's not to take too much stock in polling.
A Marquette Law School Poll completed just prior to the 2016 presidential election found that 46 percent of Wisconsin likely voters supported Clinton and 40 percent supported Trump in the race for president. Those figures were up from a poll conducted a month earlier, when Clinton polled at 44 percent and Trump at 37 percent.
2016 Race Was Close
In 2016, the Republican ticket of Donald Trump and Mike Pence defeated Democratic opponents Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine by slightly fewer than 23,000 votes.
According to updated election results from late 2016, Trump/Pence garnered 47.2 percent of the votes. Clinton/Kaine collected 46.5 percent of votes.
After rumors of widespread voter fraud, hacking and the like, no such malfeasance came to light and Trump retained most of his razor-thin election-night margin during a recount challenge spearheaded by Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
