Greendale To Allow Motorized Carts On Village Streets

They look like souped-up golf carts, and Greendale is just the third town in Wisconsin to allow them on local streets.

GREENDALE, WI -- Members of the public will be allowed to use low-speed vehicles on Greendale streets after village officials made the municipality just the third one in Wisconsin to allow the souped up golf-carts street-legal in the village.

According to a Journal Sentinel report, trustee Jason Cyborowski brought the proposal to the Village Board, and trustees passed the ordinance on Nov. 6. "It's unique and different and perfect for Greendale," he said in the post. "It would get people talking about Greendale."

In Contrast, Village President James Birmingham wasn't very big on the new measure: "You can't go very fast and by state law, you can't set a tire on a street with a speed limit higher than 35 mph, he said."
