Greendale Catalytic Converter Thief Caught In The Act: Police
A vehicle owner heard a loud grinding sound early one morning, only to find a man lying under the car, police said.

GREENDALE, WI — Police are on the lookout for a catalytic converter thief after a vehicle owner caught the thief in the act as he was lying under the vehicle with a cordless saw.
According to Greendale police call logs, officers were sent to a parking lot on the 6100 block of Highland Lane just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 9 on a report of a suspicious person.
Police said a 911 caller heard loud grinding noises near her vehicle that morning. When the vehicle owner went outside to see what was happening, they reported seeing a man lying under the vehicle. The man ran to a gray sedan and drove off before police could arrive, Greendale police told Patch.

According to police call logs, the vehicle owner noticed that the catalytic converter had been cut out from under the vehicle.
Police described the suspect as an adult white male with dark hair.
