Greendale Offers Second Location Food Services
Curbside meals are offered at Greendale High School and College Park Elementary for all children from 0 to 18-years-old.
GREENDALE, WI—Greendale schools began offering free meals at two locations this week.
Beginning on November 30, curbside meals are offered at Greendale High School and College Park Elementary for all children from 0 to 18-years-old. The meals are offered between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
So far this 2020-21 school year, the school district has served 7,346 breakfasts and 7,240 lunches through the curbside meals program.

"Of these meals served, approximately 20 daily are children 0-4. The USDA program is open to all children 0 to 18 years old," a spokesperson for the school district told Patch. "We provided free meals in the spring Safer at Home order period as well (March through June). In that period, we served 25,961 breakfasts and 25,957 lunches."
The second location was added when the school districted transitioned elementary schools temporarily to digital learning to meet anticipated demand.

The location, College Park, is also walkable for many of elementary school families who reside on the east side of the community.
There is no income requirement to participate in this program and picking up a free meal supports the school nutrition program.
"The more meals we serve, the more funding we receive," the school district explained. "Additionally, research shows that students who participate in the school meal programs consume more milk, fruit and vegetables during meal time."
The menu is shared on the district website in the Interactive Lunch menu under Elementary Lunch.
