Greendale Police Captain Awarded Commendation For Bravery For Helping Trapped Semi Driver
The incident occurred March 11, when the semitruck rolled over, leaking gas and fluid onto the road.
GREENDALE - Captain Ryan Rosenow of the Greendale Police Department was awarded a commendation and meritorious service medal Wednesday by the department for an act of bravery.
Rosenow (pictured, right) was awarded for a March 11 incident in which a semitruck rolled onto its side, leaking liquids and fuel onto the road. The driver was stuck inside the truck and Rosenow climbed onto the truck, opened the door, and assisted the driver to safety.
Rosenow did this while the truck was overturned on a busy highway, despite the risk of fire or explosion from the leaking fuel and oil.
