Greendale Students Report Feeling Unsafe, Unwelcome At School
Greendale Middle School leaders say they have to focus on changing the environment at school.
GREENDALE, WI—Greendale Middle School leaders say they must focus on changing the environment at school.
In surveys over three years, students answered questions about their comfort level at school and on the bus. Students were also asked about if they engaged with school programs or felt welcome.
Over the course of three years, students showed a decrease in several key ways between 2017 and 2019.

Students say they don’t feel like school is fair for everyone. Many also said they don’t have an adult the talk with about their problems. And over the course of the survey, fewer students felt like their teachers and peers cared about them.
