Greendale Toddler Ate Marijuana Gummy Candies: Police

Greendale police say a 2-and-a-half-year-old was treated after he ate between one and two marijuana gummy candies.

GREENDALE, WI — A Greendale toddler found and ate marijuana gummy candies, and at least one of the parents was cited, Greendale police said.

According to Greendale police call logs, officers were sent to a home on Parkview Road just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 9 on a report that a 2-and-a-half year old boy ate about one or two marijuana edible gummy candies.

Authorities said the child's father called 911 after learning this happened, and said his son was unresponsive, but breathing.

According to call logs, at least one of the child's parents was cited for possession of marijuana, and authorities are considering possible child neglect charges.
