Greendale's Chelsey Heiden Improves State Effort in Final Race
Sophomore Abby Jankowski also competed at the state meet in La Crosse on May 31 and June 1, 2013.
Senior Chelsey Heiden improved on last year’s WIAA State Track and Field Meet performance in her final prep race.
A year after finishing 18th in the 3,200-meter run as a junior, Heiden finished 14th in 11 minutes, 17.44 seconds at this year’s meet, held at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 31 and June 1.
Gina Sereno, a Madison West senior, won in 10:39.85.
Greendale’s Abby Jankowski, a sophomore, had a distance of 107 feet, 7 inches in the discus, good for 18th. She placed 17th in the same event a year ago.
Madison Memorial senior Corinne Franz had a 143-10 to win the event convincingly.
