Group Receives $625K To Fight Substance Abuse In Greendale
The Community Alliance will receive $625,000 in funding to fight substance use among youth over the next five years in Greendale.

GREENDALE, WI - Community Alliance from the Villages of Greendale and Hales Corners has received one of 150 new grants from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy for its Drug-Free Communities Support Program.
The Community Alliance will receive $625,000 in funding to fight substance use among youth over the next five years in Greendale and Hales Corners.
Community Alliance will launch its program at the monthly meeting on Wednesday,
Nov.20, at 6 p.m.., at the Greendale Fire Department, 5911 West Grange Avenue, Greendale.

“The Community Alliance coalition has been working hard for nearly two years to prevent substance misuse in Hales Corners and Greendale communities,” said Madeline Kornbeck, Community Alliance Coordinator. “Our goal with this grant award is to increase our coalition’s capacity to build on the work we have accomplished to increase barriers to substance misuse while also enhancing access to drug and alcohol free activities for youth and families.”
The Community Alliance was formed in 2017 and includes members from Greendale and Hales Corners health departments, churches, school districts, Village trustees, civic organizations, businesses, youth, and community members. You can view their resource guide here.
