Lions Club To Give $7500 In Scholarships To 5 Greendale Students

The Greendale Lions Club announced Monday $7500 total in college scholarships will be awarded to five Greendale High School Seniors.

GREENDALE, WI—The Greendale Lions Club will be handing out $7500 in college scholarships to five Greendale High School seniors for their outstanding community service and scholastic achievements, according to a Facebook post from the Lions Club.

The awardees are each from Greendale High School. Each winner went above and beyond in their studies, actively participated in extracurricular activities, frequently had a job alongside school and regularly volunteered for community service, the Facebook post said.

Out of 21 applications for the scholarship awards, five were selected. Here are the winners of this year's Greendale Lions scholarships.

  • Isabella Doss plans to study nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
  • Andrew Muehr plans to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Paris Pavelchik plans to study engineering & music performance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Mallory Potters plans to study mathematics at Ripon College.
  • Chelsea Yang plans to study nursing or pre-med at St. Norbert College.

The Greendale Lions have been selecting students for the $1500 scholarship for many years now, the post stated. Individuals are nominated through a form available in guidance offices or by emailing welcome@greendalelions.org.
