New Starbucks Location Could Come To Greendale: Board Of Trustees

GREENDALE, WI— The Village Board of Trustees will consider approving a construction permit for a new Starbucks location in front of Martin Luther High School in Greendale, according to a statement from the Village.

Starbucks would open its new location at 5201 S. 76th Street in front of Martin Luther High School, the statement said. The new location would have to gain a special use building permit from the Village to begin construction, according to the statement.

The new Starbucks would require an all-new commercial building to be built, rather than moving into a vacant commercial space. A special time for the public to raise concerns about the proposed Starbucks was slated for the very beginning of Tuesday's Board meeting.

The Greendale Village President will also hold a listening session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall before the planned Board of Trustee's meeting. At this listening session, the public can raise concerns, comments or anything else about the Village directly to the Village President.

Also on Tuesday's Greendale Village Board of Trustee's Meeting agenda:

• The Board will consider when the firework display at Village Days should happen.
• The Trimborn Farms Arts & Crafts Fair plus Shakespeare in the Park at Gazebo Park will be considered for special event permits.
• Greendale may participate in a special economic development survey alongside the Greendale Chamber of Commerce and Milwaukee Area Technical College.
• The Board will go into a closed session to discuss more changes at Southridge Mall.

The Greendale Village Board of Trustees will meet to discuss the proposed Starbucks and other agenda items at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall located at 6500 Northway in Greendale.
