In Photos: Greendale Martin Luther Defeats Racine St. Catherine's

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Greendale Martin Luther's magical run toward the 2019 WIAA Division 3 State Basketball tournament took another big step forward with a 78-68 victory over Racine St. Catherine's Thursday night at The Racine Prairie School in Wind Point.

Martin Luther, who came into Friday's game with 22 victories and three losses, will play Beloit Turner in the sectional finals Saturday in Evansville. Beloit Turner defeated Edgerton 57-53 in their sectional semifinal on Thursday.

Martin Luther sprinted to a 14-2 advantage early in the game, though St. Catherine's hung tough, getting seven points from forward Quinn Cafferty in the first half. Martin Luther led just 32-26 at halftime.

After cutting the Martin Luther lead to just three points early in the second half, the Spartans pulled away, getting 17 points from Ace Evans in the second half and 13 from Trequan Carrington in the second half. Carrington led all scorers with 25 points.
