Police: Man Jumped by People he Met in Line

A man and his 14-year-old nephew attacked a man outside Southridge Mall to get the $200 in cash they knew he had, police say.

Marqul L. Brisco-Lloyd, 22, of Milwaukee, is charged with attempted robbery with use of force and misdemeanor battery. He faces more than seven years imprisonment, which could include time in prison and on community supervision. 

A man told police he was at Southridge Mall March 16 to purchase a limited edition athletic shoe that had just been released and was on sale. He told officers he arrived early, and with $200 cash. 

He waited in line, but the store ran out before he could buy the shoes. He left, the complaint states, and went out of the mall.

When he was outside, talking on his phone, the man told police he was attacked from behind by two people he had met in the line. The punched and kicked him, the complaint states, demanding his money. The man bit one of his assailants' fingers; they did not get his money. 

Brisco-Lloyd and his 14-year-old nephew were arrested shortly after the assault was reported by a passerby. 

The complaint states Brisco-Lloyd confessed to a Greendale officer, saying he knew the man had $200 and that they attacked him trying to get the money.
