Some Greendale Students Begin Virtual Ed, Cases Up
Highland View students transition to virtual learning amid a spike in cases at the school.
GREENDALE, WI— Students did not have class Monday as teachers used the day to make adjustments to their instructional plans.
Families of Highland View students will now move to real-time (synchronous) learning Tuesday.
"This decision was made after reviewing the Dashboard for Moving Learning Environments with our district nurse and the Greendale Health Department and considering community trends," Tracy Flater, Principal, wrote to parents. "We are making this change to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. This transition will ensure uninterrupted learning for all students."

As the school building is closed for in-person learning, additional cleaning and disinfecting to control the spread of illness is underway.
All Park & Rec after school activities are canceled as well.
The closure is expected to last 13 days. Students will return to in-person learning on Thursday, November 19. If new positive cases of coronavirus are confirmed during the digital learning time, the school may extend the digital learning period.
