Showoff Your Holiday Lights, Win Prizes

GREENDALE, WI— Residents with the best holiday lights in Greendale could be rewarded for their decor.

Now through December 24, residents can submit pictures of the best homes in Greendale, along with the address, to create a network of local locations with holiday lights. Then residents can use those resident-generated locations as a map for a driving tour around the community.

The homes with the most likes on social media through the Holiday Lights in Greendale event on Facebook will win prizes.

"We discussed some Covid-Conscious ideas for the holidays," said Kristin Jastroch, Tourism & Events Coordinator. "We’re generating a list of locations so people to drive by with their families to enjoy them throughout the holidays. "

Jastroch explained they also wanted to support Southridge Mall in Greendale, so the Public Celebrations Committee is sponsoring the prizes of $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third place based on the most likes at the end of the competition on Christmas Eve.

"With an online Facebook Event everyone can benefit," she explained. "Given the current state of Covid, this is a perfect way to spread some holiday cheer in our community."
