Shredded Docs In Greendale Turn Into Toilet Paper
More than a ton of documents were shredded.
GREENDALE,WI—More than 100 families took advantage of the Greendale Park and Recreation shredding event two weeks ago. The shredded material will be used to make paper towels and toilet paper.
More than 100 families took their confidential documents to the event to be shredded and they totaled 2,520 pounds of paper. For perspective, there are 2,000 pounds in a ton.
One ton of paper recycled saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 KWs of energy, and 7,000 gallons of water, according to event organizers
